The Devil's Tongue is one of Nod's strongest anti-infantry units, and a great vehicle for Nod's hit'n'run tactics.

Tiberian Sun[]

The Devil's Tongue is a boxy vehicle with two giant horizontal drills located on its front and treads wrapped around the profile of the vehicle. The drills allow it to burrow underground and emerge from anywhere on the battlefield, and its twin flamethrowers would unpack from the sides and unleash their load on enemy units. The unit was poorly armored though, and easy to fall to GDI's Titans. Furthermore, it can be detected by Mobile Sensor Array while underground, and is vulnerable against EMP blast. Still, the Devil's Tongue became the bane of all GDI structures and infantry during the war.

Tiberium Essence[]

The Devil's Tongue used during the Third Tiberium War has a less boxy design, and its flamethrowers are moved to the front. However, it is still easy prey to cannon fire and missiles due to its relatively weak armor. Its flamethrowers are lethal against any infantry it encounters, but also effective against light vehicles and structures. After researching the Drilling Mechanism upgrade, all Devil's Tongues are equipped with large drills, which allow them to dig in and travel undetected to any location almost instantly, allowing it to conduct surprise attacks, or to safely escape when overwhelmed.

It should be noted that if multiple Devil's Tongues are using the subterranean attack at the same time at the same spot, they'll pop up at the same location making them very vulnerable to attack. Ordering them to move elsewhere or pressing Ctrl + X make them scatter.

Trivia[]

  • It uses the voice of the Purifier from C&C3 Kane's Wrath.
