The Fanatics are Nod's powerful suicide infantry squads.

They are trained in groups of five, and can easily destroy various vehicles. In large groups they're extremely dangerous for slow moving vehicles such as Mammoth Tanks and MCV's, as well as Harvesters in the field. Fanatics are one of Nod's strongest infantry units, although, by many, they are considered to be a very expensive and inefficient unit because they are un-reusable. They can use self-destruction ability to explode to the very position they're at the moment. They also can be upgraded with Forced Evolution to become immune to Tiberium radiation, take more hits before dying and become faster.
As of 1.6, the Fanatics cannot be trained from Hand of Nod, or via Subterranean Strike support power. Tarantula Drone has replaced Fanatics as a suicide unit, but Fanatics can still be put into a map with the World Builder, but these Fanatics have Tarantula Drone's icon.
